About IMPACT Peru

Through the grace of God, I have been given the awesome opportunity to travel to Arequipa, Peru in November with a small group from Affinity Health System's IMPACT Peru mission & volunteer program led by Dr. Bob Gehringer. During our time there, we'll be participating in the programs of the Missionary Society of St. Paul in Alto Cayma, led by Father Alex Busuttil, and will have a variety of unique experiences and learning opportunities. Rooted in the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, IMPACT Peru works collaboratively with the Alto Cayma Clinic in Arequipa, Peru to provide quality health care programs and services to poor and underprivileged individuals. We’ll experience and participate in a variety of services including home visits, elderly program, pre-school, knitting and wood-working workshops, primary health care clinic, and family support program. A significant portion of the mission outreach is dedicated to a daily food distribution program that feeds well over 650 people everyday. The food, prepared in a large industrial kitchen on site at the mission’s main campus, is distributed to the poorest families and individuals of Alto Cayma in a "Meals on Wheels" format. Each day food is brought directly to the houses of the most needed citizens in one of Arequipa’s poorest communities.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Pray for the safety, leadership, and training ability of our missions teams and that God will open the hearts of the Peruvian people. Financial support is also important. A gift of any amount will help support the community of Alto Cayma and the amazing work of Health Bridges International.
